5 Reasons Why Zerista is a Great Ning Alternative

Bookmark and Share

Many ning owners are looking for a new home.  We’re biased, of course, but here are 5 reasons why we think Zerista is a great ning alternative.

5. Easy set-up - Zerista’s simple set-up process enables you to build a mobile application and publish it to any web-enabled phone and desktop in minutes.

4. Transaction-enabled – Zerista lets you quickly and easily conduct a broad range of transactions within your network.  You can collect funds for dues, subscriptions, tickets, and many other types of transaction.

3. Mobile management - Manage schedules, send invites, approve members and perform other management tasks on the go from your phone.

2. Location features - Zerista offers check in, custom maps, location-awareness and more. This enables your group to connect in real-time, on-the-go and from anywhere.

1. Your members love mobile social apps – Recent surveys indicate that mobile social usage is skyrocketing.  Twitter announced just last week that close to 40% of its activity occurs on phones.  You need to go where your users are – which is increasingly on their phones.

So Zerista reckons it is a replacement for Ning.
I have a couple of Ning groups, and I have a few questions.

    * What about Rich Media? Ning allows videos, photos, and audio.
    * How about embedding RSS feeds. This is one of my favorite features of Ning. I can channel RSS feeds into a variety of Ning modules.
    * Ning has a great interconnect feature with Facebook and Twitter. We can ‘brand’ the Ning output of our community to both these social networks. Will Zerista also allow us to ‘brand’ the output from communities that we set up on Zerista?

    Dave,

Thanks for your questions. Yes, we provide for
embedding some rich media, including videos, photos and audio. We also enable embedded RSS feeds. Finally, we do provide interconnect features to Twitter. That said, we’re not going to have every ning feature.

If your group needs or could benefit from more mobile features, please sign up for our beta and check out what we have to offer.

Yeah we are wondering when we can move our network over tk Zerista too. Have you heard from them after signing up?

Some other questions that may also help others:

Will there be a live chat facility?
Will there be a forum facility?
Will it be available in UK…if so how soon?
Will it be localised on relevant timezones?
Will any member be able to add an event?
Will you charge a fee in the future?
Will it be very desktop user friendly also?

Please make you demo iPhone compatible – ie something different to adobe reader. Thanks!

    Cheers

Hi…I’m wanting to migrate my Ning social network to Zerista. I’ve tried signing up to you however I’ve yet to hear any news. Can you tell us when it’s going to be available? For those of us who need to leave Ning…we need to secure a new website host for our social networks – real soon!

    Thanks very much
